The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) and National Grid are inviting implementers and aggregators to bid on a new pilot program aimed at deploying efficiency and demand response to address unprecedented natural gas supply challenges.
NYSERDA will award up to $6 million in funding to implement energy efficiency measures for approximately 1,500 National Grid customers under the new Home Energy Savings Program. Providers will be paid over three years for metered energy savings delivered.
Recurve is excited to provide our Demand Flexibility Platform as the backbone of this innovative program.
Unlike traditional programmatic efficiency programs, pay-for-performance is a portfolio-based, technology-agnostic approach that pays only for realized savings based on savings at the meter, calculated by Recurve using the CalTRACK Methods and the Open-Source OpenEEmeter.
This offers space for a variety of innovative technologies and business models to compete to provide targeted savings, by focusing on outcomes rather than products.
The Home Energy Savings Program expands on NYSERDA’s commitment to pay-for-performance approaches to efficiency and demand flexibility by targeting residential retrofits; its recent Business Energy Pro pilot uses pay-for-performance to help businesses upgrade and save energy.
We encourage aggregators to bid for this proposal and take advantage of this opportunity to lead the way towards a more scalable future for energy efficiency.
